Hi all,
I bought new Macbook this month and was very happy untill i meet this problem.
Every thing was just perfect sound, graphics movies etc, everything. But i installed VLC media player in order to see some .AVI formats. After that for appx. 1 day it was fine but next day VLC was crashing many times and 1 time it gave sound relater error something like that unable to play sound properly some thread exception etc. I noticed after that quality of sound is very poor,it's producing noisy sound out of inbuilt speaker. Can any baody help me in this like what should i do.
1. Will reinstall of sound card driver help, if yes then how to reinstall it.
2. Will removing VLC media player help, if yes then how to uninstall this.

Any other solution?

Many thanks in advance, waiting for reply.

I assume you mean that VLC is distorting?

Do any of the other programs (like iTunes) produce similarly broken sound?

In VLC, try turning DOWN the VLC volume to about 25% - when I have it at that level, it is equally as loud as other programs (like DVD Player, iTunes, etc.), and it does NOT distort.
