...last night.

2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB RAM
160 GB HD
Black

ordered a case and everything for it and the free nano I am getting.

Quick question though. I plan on partitioning the hard drive with windows XP and before I do so, I need to figure out how much space to allow. This depends heavily on whether or not files (all I'm really concerned with are .mp3 or .doc files) on the windows partition are accessible (can I play the music) on OS X?

Congrats -- great machine, you'll be happy!

The ability to easily write and read files on your BootCamp partition depends greatly on which format you choose, NTFS or FAT.

NTFS is read only accessible by the Mac Finder... meaning, that you'll only be able to read those files and not edit or add to them from the Mac side.

However, with FAT (max partition size of 32GB) you can read or write from either side. Be forewarned though, that you can accidentially edit or modify a meant-to-be "hidden" file from the Mac side.

Have you explored SWSoft Parallels? With that software you can have the best of both worlds and keep all of your files on the Mac partition and share the files with Windows... You can learn all about it either in this forum (Alternative OS Section) or visition parallels.com

Good Luck!

Very nice. Open it slowly as you can only open it once. Great machine I LOVE working on mine. Good job opting for the top model. I have the previous rev. a white 2.0GHz with 1GB of memory and a 80GB HD. I filled this drive up so fast that I am looking to upgrade. Thankfully the drive is so accessible.

Enjoy it!!!
