I know that Apple used to have to a lot of their laptops manufactured in Taiwan, but all of the new MacBook's and MacBook Pro's that I've seen have been Made in China. Does anyone know if ANY of the current MacBook's are being produced in a country other than China?

All in China. Too expensive to build anywhere else.

That, and Asustek, Foxconn and the third manufacturer (forgot the name) have all outsourced their factories to the Mainland. They're all made in China since Apple contracts those three companies to manufacture their products.

I believe they're all Taiwan-based companies, as well.

Are we calling ROC and PROC 'China' or just PROC in this thread?

I wasn't referring to Taiwan and China as one entity in the question, so to answer your question, no, PROC and ROC are not one in the same for the purpose of this inquiry. Thanks.

Well, since the thread starter did use the words "Taiwan" and "China", I think we can infer that he's referring to the geographic names, not the governmental names.

Besides, Taiwan's not China (nor a part of it).
.... yet. >D

My point in mentioning Taiwan was to note that Taiwanese companies are taking advantage of the lower labor costs on the mainland to produce a lot of computer products. Foxxconn, for example, makes iPods. On the mainland, in factories they own. Think of this as "creeping capitalism" if you wish, (I certainly do), but it makes economic sense on both sides of the Formosa Strait.

Well, this wasn't possible until recently. And this might end if tensions keep increasing on both sides. D:
