Hey,
Well I want to get a new MacBook Pro next time I go to the States (1.5 weeks) and I want to know if it's a good time to get it. I knew Apple would upgrade it before WWDC, but I must say it wasn't quite the update what I was expecting. Do you think Apple will do any big updates soon? Intel have some new chips in the pipeline?

Apple actually did update the MBP, faster bus speeds, faster cpu, using LED backlighting better GPU, i.e., Santa Rosa chip set.

So yes this is an excellent time to buy

Read his post. He knows that Apple has just refreshed the MBP's.

To your question. Well, the last MBP was updated back in October 06', and we just got the SR MPB. So my guess is, that you'll have to wait for the Penrynn update in 08' if u wan't something newer than the ones currently out.

If you're happy with the current hardware, this is a great time to buy.

If you're not happy with the current hardware, there should be another upgrade early next year.

I'd say that there is still a REMOTE chance that we'll see an update, maybe even a form factor change, on or shortly after the Leopard release. I'm not waiting though....

Thanks guys, I think I'll buy it now. Early 08 is a little long to wait for my computer.
