I was working on my Titanium PowerBook G4 667 Mhz, 768 MB RAM, OS X 10.3.9, when I put it to sleep. The sleep light was stuck with a steady glow. I tried waking it from sleep with no luck. I tried restarting with Command+Control+Power, it wouldn't turn off. I tried pushing the reset button with no luck. I even tried unplugging the power cord and removing the battery, but the sleep light remained steady throughout these processes.

Please help,
Rainier

That's weird...

Try pressing the power button for 5-8 seconds. This should force it to shut down.

It happens to my MacBook Pro from time to time, and holding down the power button always works for me.

First, I tried a suggestion of holding down the power button for up to 10 seconds, but the sleep light remained on. Then I tried another suggestion of running down the internal battery. The sleep light finally turned off. I proceeded to plug the power cord to recharge the internal battery when the sleep light turned on again. At this point, I brought it to a Mac Genius who diagnosed it as a bad logic board/power manager. I removed the internal hard drive to retrieve my data, and then I tried turning on the computer again. I heard the chime. I connected my external firewire hard drive and it booted up again. I think it was complete luck that it started. Would you suggest working on this computer again? Should I work off an external hard drive to remove the need to open the computer up again to remove the internal hard drive for data retrieval?

My Ti800 has done something similar to this a few times. I have never had it diagnosed by a Mac Genius though...
The fix for me is to remove the battery and unplug and let it sit until the light went out. It starts right back up for me.
If you need to use the laptop and can get by with using an external HD than go for it. I enjoy the mobility so if I were you I would be looking to replace it. I back up everything that is vital to me monthly at least on it now. It has been thru a lot and I plan on replacing it this fall.
The bad logic board/ power manager diagnosis seems logical if not factual. Do you have any other issues with start up, or shut down? I have run into start up issues everytime I download an OS update, currently using 10.4.9.
