I have a 867 Mhz G4 Titanium PowerBook DVI. The fans seem to be very erratic. I'll assume the humming I'm hearing as I type is one of the two fans running, but the other rarely seems to come on. It does sometimes kick on, but not very often at all. Because of this, my PowerBook seems to have extreme difficulty with heat. Lately it seems like every few minutes it gets extremely hot, and it appears that the heat is compromising the performance of my PCMCIA wireless card, and sometimes even the overall performance of the system. Is there anything I can do short of buying another fan and replacing it? I know a cooling pad could help, but at the moment I'm short on money with bills and school coming up again in the fall.
