I just received my 15" Powerbook G4 (specs in sig) from Apple after an almost complete overhaul. They replaced the LCD, hard drive, and logic board. However, my Powerbook will no longer go to sleep!

No matter what energy savings setting I'm in (better, normal, best), whether the power adaptor is plugged in or not, the Powerbook just won't sleep when I close the lid!

I do not have any bluetooth devices attached.

Is there a simple fix to this?

Thanks!

Edit: The Powerbook seems to run fairly warm even when doing very basic tasks, such as running Safari, Adium, and iTunes. I've checked the activity monitor and there's nothing that is really eating up at the processors or RAM, so I'm not sure why the Powerbook gets so hot. Even in better energy savings mode...

first thing to do is call apple.

can you sleep from the menu? is it only when you close the lid that it doesnt sleep?
the pb may be getting hot if you close the lid and it is still awake...

again, call apple!

Thanks fisherKing. The PB will sleep when I hit the power button and select "sleep." It won't sleep when I close the lid. I'll call Apple right after I hit the reply button!

According to the Genius I talked to, the small sleep magnet may have been moved when my hardware was being replaced.

Guess I'll have to take in the Powerbook for another round of repairs!
