I visited 2 apple stores in town and they both had a very shoddy speaker selection for macbooks. One had really ugly ones and the other had really expensive ones. I was told that any speaker could work as long as it could plug into the input so my question is what speakers would anyone like to suggest?

I have my eye on the Creative Inspire T3100 and the Logitech Z-4i but I'm not sure if they have a single connection input (ie the 3 different input cords yellow green and black). I understand there's a device out there that can convert it but I don't really want to attach anything else to my MB.

Thanks for your time.

What I did was take my stereo speaker system and hook it up to my Macbook, you can do this by buying any line in cable and attaching it directly to the stereo system of your choice. Its great especially if you have some spare speakers and lying around and some space. It saves you the hassle of having to find some "Mac" speaker systems when you can buy some higher quality speakers from Sony or Bose.

What to you mean by that? Any speakers will work with a Mac, and all are of high quality.

I use JBL Creature Speakers, they're very nice speakers for the money ($99).
Signature depreciated.
