My 15" Macbook pro 2.33 core2duo justs shuts off when the power cord is disconnected. It says the battery is fully charged, and all the LED's on the battery iteself turn green, however as soon as I remove the power cord, the unit shuts off completely, and does not start until the power cord is re-inserted. I have tried some of the tips on the apple support site, including removing both the battery and ac and holding down power for five seconds, and I have also tried installing the battery update 1.2 to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Either the battery is toast or your MBP needs repair. Bring it in and have them repair it under warranty.

Exactly what you described happened to my MBP battery. The battery was immediately replaced free of charge. They did not even ask me a receipt.
