I am debating on spending 50ish dollars on the equipment needed to hook my MBP up via VGA. Would this look okay or kinda morphed?

It should look ok... depends on how the TV handles VGA input. Some support widescreen, some only support 4:3.

$50? It's a $5 cable.

Do not waste your money on a $50 10' vga cable, take a look online for one MUCH cheaper.

Unless your house is RIGHT under enormous power lines, or there's a radio station in your garage (a HIGH powered one at that), you don't really need the fancy cabling. Get a decent, $5-$10 VGA cable and see how it looks. You'll most likely forget about the expensive one when you start watching your video.

thanks guys, i picked one up for 17.99. apparently not the best deal but nothing work complaining about. It is an okay set up. It is sorta off or morphed.... none of the resolution settings fit perfect. But not a bad option if you have friends over recording songs or watching videos on youtube or somethin.
