Hola-
I know this has been asked before, I was on google for hours trying to make a decision but every form got way to complex, so maybe after my initial questions are answered, a administrator could lock this thread before it goes down the same path.
I want to hook up a external display to my brand new macbook. I want the best resolution possible with the biggest size screen possible, I also don't want to buy a apple cinema display or anything that expensive. A lot to ask, but I know you have the answer.
So, how and what do I buy to accomplish what I just described?
Further, what are factors to consider when buying a external display to hook up to a macbook to have in mind.
You can do this

If you want a monitor at native resolution, I'd recommend the Dell 2407. Although those other "forms" you mentioned became complex, it's either that (reviews, comparison, test one out, etc) or you'll have to make a decision based on someone else's (possibly subjective) opinion.
FWIW most "which monitor?" threads here seem to point to the Dell 2407, with exceptions being made for reasons of loyalty, aesthetics, price or a very specific feature requirement.
I have a 2407 so I guess take all this with a pinch of salt... it performs extremely well, utilises a great panel, but doesn't look as good as some of the alternatives.

the 2007 is cheaper as well and still cranks out a decent resolution. you could find cheap 19" lcds in widescreen format selling well under $200 if you look hard enough.
