hi

my iBook clamshell won't charge it's battery when I plug in the AC adaptor, the inidicator stays at 1% (battery power).

I recently changed the battery

could this problem be down to the batery or the ac adaptor?

any ideas?

Try re-seating your battery, making sure it's connected/seated properly in its slot.

I removed it 3 times, the same problem

do you think it's more to do with the iBook rather than the battery?

because when I purchased it (used) the battery that came with it was useless

Either that or the DC in-board is jacked up.

Is this an original battery? If so, you're lucky it's even lasted this long. 99% (if not 100%) of original clamshell batteries are long past the end of their rated lifespan now. If it is the original, I can just about say with 110% certainity that the battery has finally died its final death. Buy a new one. I'd recommend buying one from a reputable seller (not eBay)...given the recent history of exploding batteries, I don't trust just any third-party manufacturer. A replacement for my clamshell was $110 at BatteriesPlus.

It has a newly purchased battery inside

although I purchased it off of ebay and it's a third party battery

now the seller doesn't want to know about the fact that the battery isn't charging

what can I do?
