OK, I just bought a second hand pismo G3 - it worked fine, I tested it first.

I opened her up to swap over the hard disk with an old one(which also previously worked fine). I put everything back together, and all that happens now when I start her up is the Hard Disk starts up. Nothing else. The screen is dead, there aren't the usual processing sounds you usually get, just a steady hard disk sound. I've triple checked everything that I tampered with - which was only the heat shield, the processor and the hard disk. All the other cables are as they should be.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.
thanks!!

Just like to add - even when I replace the old hard disk, it does the same thing.

Check that the processor is firmly in it's socket. I think they take a bit of force to get them in right.

I must have tried that about 10 times now. I don't think I can force it any harder. If that was the problem, shouldn't the screen light up anyway?

It does take quite of bit of force! When you replaced the processor board .... did you make sure the pins lined up correctly?

I think you've simply upgraded it from working to non-working. Mission Accomplished.

Try reseating the RAM -- all the movement may have messed up a contact, just reseat. Also, you might try holding the reset button down for a while after removing the battery.
He can be fixed -- you can't.
