Alright, I'll try to keep this from sounding redundant, as I know this issue has been touched on numerous other times. Here goes:

I'm trying to decide between the 15" options. What it really boils down to is the issue of 128 vs. 256. Most of the threads posted so far have addressed the gaming issue but I don't plan to use this machine for any gaming. I will primarily be using it for video and photo editing. I do plan to use Final Cut extensively and Aperture from time to time. I have read the BeatFeets articles and it seems that there isn't too much of a difference between the two.

I'm really looking for any help if anyone has any to offer. Anyone out there using their machines primarily for video editing? I want to make sure whatever I buy has some life to it... no replacements for the next few years. But $500 is a lot of money!

Thanks

I have 128. I do occasional video editing and don't have any complaints.

VRAM matters for Motion, but not so much for Aperture. For Final Cut Pro it really doesn't matter.

If you can afford the faster machine with more VRAM, buy it. If you can't, buy the less expensive model. I've done video editing with my 2.0GHz Core Duo (NOT Core 2 Duo) MBP with great results-though a bit of a wait for the DVD to be created.

If you're going to do a lot of serious video editing, I don't think the MBP is the best platform for the job-the Mac Pro is a much better fit for that. But if you're going to get an MBP, get what you can afford and you'll be happy.
