I don't have a Mac... yet. I plan on buying my MacBook soon. The models out now are only a couple months old. I'm not sure how often the MacBooks get updated, but I doubt you will regret it if you buy one now. (I'm sure I won't anyway.)

Leopard's going to be released in October, so if you really want to wait that long, that's up to you. Personally, there's nothing in Leopard that is stopping me from buying now. The features are very nice, of course, but you can also upgrade to OS X 10.5 for a little over $100 later on if you want it.

yeah i could upgrade for $129, I bought my last ibook right before tiger was released and they offered me a $10 or maybe $20 upgrade cd. I wish they'd do that with all their machines sold now. Maybe I'll wait til september.

The Macbooks are one of Apple's most up to date machines currently, although that will change when the iMac comes out.

How urgently do you need to have one? Aside from that, there'll always be a "new" release coming out after you have bought your Macbook, regardless of whether you wait or buy it now. You can wait three months for the new Macbooks to come out. Three months after you bought your Macbook, a new one may eventually come out. There is no way to surpass that cycle, so you might as well buy one now and get Leopard when it's out. My humble opinion.

If you need it, buy now. It's only like 2 months old right now. If you can wait, I don't see an update happening until at least January at the SF Expo.

i may wait to save 129 on leopard, maybe they could have a small speedbump or increase in hd space.
