My function key randomly activates without being touched. It will happen in any application I may be using. If I have the Keyboard viewer open I can watch the key activate on it's own. Sometimes it stays activated and other times it will flash on and off without even touching the keyboard.

I doubt it is the keyboard because I have replaced that.

A restart usually corrects the problem for awhile.

Any ideas?

I think you kind of answered your own question:

What did you replace it with and how? Who's to say there isn't something wrong with the new keyboard? Is there any crud or gunk under the key in question?
