Hey folks, I recently purchased a SR Macbook pro and since I have a need for windows I use apple's bootcamp application. My problem is that I am having random lockups (hardlocks, no BSOD). It usually happens 1-10 minutes into XP I have done the following things in a attempt to remedy the problem with no luck.

Reset NVram
Format XP
drivers
system restore
safemode

I am also having the garbled screen issue BUT only when I am loading my XP disc in then it disapears.

My ideas are to somehow restore the firmware back to old version but I am unable to do that as it was technically a "successful update" would removing the ram and or formatting the entire hard drive make a difference?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I love Mac's But this has really spoiled the new computer experience.

Apple don't yet support Boot Camp, so you may struggle to get help. You could pop into an apple store and target boot one of their Macs from yours. Then see if XP freezes on their machine. If not, book yours in for repair. If it comes to it, they could replace the logic board to sort the firmware out (if thats the problem).
