Easiest way is to change the top case. But they do come off without too much fuss.

They might well fit just fine. If you are only swapping speakers and not top cases, just check that A) The screwholes line up for fixing them to the top case (though I'm sure you could improvise a way around this if needs be) and B) The connector on the speaker cable will fit your logic board. If it does, you are good to go.

You shouldn't have much trouble finding parts for these. Many have been scrapped due to the video issue. I just fixed one with a blowtorch too!

Hi,

I switched the speakers from a broken iBook G4 into my iBook G3 succesfully, but you have also to remove the bottom case to be able to loosen the trackpad from the body, also took the battery,
In my repairshop they told me that everything is different, that it was impossible to put the screen from a G3 iBook on a G4 iBook .... so i started with the burning videochip treatment ... first succes ... speakers .... second succes ...
but mayby it is possible to put one screen to the other, but nerver mind ... i am happy my G3 is working like new
