Hey everyone,

Just got my new MacBook pro and love it. The only little issue I have is that the laptop seems to do a double system beep randomly. It's not an hourly chime or anything, but I could have no applications open and the system will give a double beep sound.

Anyone have any idea what I can look at to see where this is coming from?

Could well be an installed app.

If it's a high pitched sound then it could be the HDD possibly warning of failure.

2 beeps? usually means bad ram (but i thought this only happened on startup).
new mac? so...call apple asap & discuss...

I am also having this problem. I am getting a constant beeping sound. It is not a beeping sound, but more of an alert sound. Were you able to resolve it? Thanks for any info.

Think i have solved the problem for me. I had the Entourage "No Mail" sound engaged and the check mail setting on my pop server to 1 minute (hence the beeping every minute....). This is probably not the same problem that others are having, but just thought I would put it out there.
