Okay, so I have a DVI TiBook that I bought like 6 months ago. The battery didn't last very long at all when it came to me. A couple months later, there were times when the TiBook would claim there wasn't a battery connected at all (the battery icon has an X inside it), and sometimes when it came time to charge the battery, the charging times seemed to increase as time passed. So I stopped using it. But, last week I brought it with me on a long car ride, just to use when the car had to be turned off so I wouldn't lose what I was doing. It does the strange thing still where at times it doesn't seem to recognize the battery being there, but oddly enough, it still stays on when the power cord is unplugged. Today I decided to download "coconutBattery" on recommendation from a friend to test it out. When I first started it, when the battery wasn't being recognized, it said the battery's initial power level was -1 mAh and the current max capacity was 10,000 mAh, which obviously makes no sense at all, and that it had gone through 0 charge cycles. Afterwards, I closed it, removed and reinserted the battery (making the TiBook recognize it again), and restarted the program. Now, it says that the battery has gone through the proper number of cycles (271), but that the capacity (at 271 cycles) is 3698 mAh out of 4200 (88%).
So could someone please tell me what in the world is going on here? I'm thoroughly confused at the whole mess.
