I have one of the older powerbooks (the ones that were new 2 years ago), and it's been holding up pretty well. Its notable design flaws are its power supply and its heat issues.

I recently scored a pretty sweet scholarship deal that gives me one free computer during my undergrad tenure (I'm going into my JR year now), so I'm wondering if there's a new line of Apple laptops in the works? When I bought my Ipod photo 2 years ago, the Ipod video was released in a matter of months. I don't want that to happen with this computer since I'll have the money to get all the top of the line features I want. Should I wait a year to get it or would I do just as well to get it this year? Any buzz of a new mac book line?

I just read up on the new OSX5 thingie that's supposed to be released in October. How seen before Mac Book Pro's will be shipping with that pre-installed?

The MacBook Pros were just updated 2 months ago to the latest and greatest hardware available, and I don't expect we'll see another upgrade to them until early next year (quads and other marginal updates).

If you can, hold off until the ship date is announced for Leopard, then buy a MBP. That way you can get Leopard as well.

I think I read where Leopard ships in October (?). I suppose I will wait for those to drop then.
