apple store on 2gb for mb: Upgrade to the 2GB option (two 1GB modules) if you plan to use your system regularly for more intensive tasks, such as sound design, video editing, and DVD authoring.

apple store on 2gb for mbp:Choose the standard 2GB of memory to support day-to-day tasks such as email, word processing, and web browsing as well as more complex tasks such as editing photos, creating illustrations, and building complex presentations.

2gb in the mb sounds better!!

I guess it is marketing to get people who don't quite understand the logic of 2GB of RAM to upgrade to 4GB on the MBP. Interesting though. They may just have a default comment for the lowest amount of RAM and one for the upgraded one. I don't know. Interesting though!

It just sounds like wanted to market the Pro towards business professionals, who would do the more "boring" tasks of word processing and creating presentations. The "sound design, video editing and DVD authoring" that the MB can do sounds a lot like the iLife suite.. even though I know it could mean Pro Tools and FCS, too. Nonetheless, that was very interesting to read.
macbook.
