well heres my story, im in austria right now and my cousin who lives here gave me a dvd to watch so i put it in my drive and it asked me to change a drive setting so i did. ever since then my right speaker doesn't work. when i put in headphones the left one is perfect and i can hear a tiny bit from my right one i have no idea whats going on!!! please help. i have a ibook G4 by the way

Apple menu --> System Preferences --> Sound --> Output --> Balance.

It's a bug that shows up frequently.

BTW, you are aware that you can only change DVD drive regions five time total, after which you're stuck forever on whatever region you last selected, right?

Just change the balance to the middle, to have equal sound come out each speaker.

Hi Lujas513,

I'm not sure what version of Mac OS you are running but a lot of people have complained about this bug and you can try installing "Balanced, for OS X Tiger" from here to see if you can at least take control of the bug.

balanced, a daemon that keeps your system's output volume balance in place.
