Is there a way to stay connected to the internet during sleep?
Im using a macbook with an external display and I want to let everything go to sleep, but I want to stay connected to the internet. Is that possible, or should I just use a program to shut off sleep?

No. When the computer is asleep, it is basically off, and there is no way to keep it "connected." May I ask what the purpose of keeping it connected while asleep is?

No. Sleep means everything suspends.
Use InsomniaX if you want the laptop to stay awake when you close the lid.

I never use sleep really, I just turn off the monitor for my mac pro. I think sleep means everything is off except the ram?
