Last night just lurking internet and ichat and this message comes up over my screen saying i need to restart my computer. It wont let me hit any buttons so i have to hold down the power key. so i restart it, it freezes. Let it sit over night and start it up this morning. runs for less then 3 minutes then the warning pops up and freezes again. I tried reformatting it this morning and put in the disc and left the room and came back to the message again. so i shut it off and left before i threw it through a wall.

Its a kernal panic warning so something about my os X fricked up. tried reformatting but it wouldnt let me, what should i do now.

If you've booted from the install CD and you still get kernel panics, it's in the hardware. Try running the Hardware Test disc that Apple includes with the machine - best bet is that it's bad RAM.
