Well, I really really like the new iMac I just got last week, but I do find myself wanting (and needing) something portable, and I don't wanna maintain 2 machines, so I'm thinking about returning it for a MBP. Questions:

-New LCD display is only available on the 15", right?
-LCD display, big improvement over the old display, right? How-so?
-LCD display - only available in non-gloss, right?

Both the 15" and 17" sport new LCDs. The 15" are now LED-lit, but the 17" got a higher resolution display (but is still CCFL-lit).

The new 15" LED-lit display has the following improvements:
- No half-life on the lighting: it maintains the same brightness over its lifetime. CCFL-lit LCDs lose brightness over time.
- It reaches maximum brightness instantly. CCFL-lit LCDs have a 'warm-up' time (usually pretty short, but still there).
- Better for the environment: no mercury.

It's available in both glossy and matte. Take your pick.
