I just got this machine about two weeks ago. As soon as I got it, I replaced the HD with a 250GB HD. I was extremely careful, and put the machine back tighter than anyone who I've ever had do HD replacements on past machines.

Today though, I noticed that the section of the case directly under the HD, right next to the battery, is slightly raised (warped) higher than the battery. When I mean slight, I mean 1/16, or even 1/32 of an inch. And its flexible. I can put a little pressure on it and it immediately goes flush with the battery. On the plus side, it's not affecting the actual function of the machine. It appears to be purely cosmetic.

Anyone else have this?

No, I'm not even sure I'd notice a deviation of 1/32 of an inch.

Does the MBP sit flush on the desk and does not rock?

It sits flat. It doesn't rock. But due to the slight warp, rather than resting solely on the rubber feet with the bottom of the case slightly raised, the bottom of the case is resting on the desk itself.

Ok, I just might be a little too anal about this. I got a ruler and measured it. The difference is between 1/3 and 3/4 of a millimeter. Obviously a MINIMAL difference. :-)

For some reason my brain really notices discrepancies like that. A buddy of mine once bought a newer model SUV than the one he had. It took me about 10 seconds to see that it was 1 inch lower to the ground and about 3 or 4 inches longer than the previous one. He didn't believe me.... until he dug out the users manuals..... and I was right.

Well that's different, I wouldn't be concerned if it was 1/32 of inch but 1/3 of millimeter is a whole different ball of wax.

Actually you should be more concerned with 1/32" (0.8mm) than with 0.33mm...
