I am absolutely lost as to why my macbook is behaving so oddly. The optical drive can mount CDs fine but spits out the OS X reinstall disc, while booting and when in the desktop. The resintall disc mounts just fine on other macs. I burned a firmware reset image I got off apple and the CD is also spat out on startup.

And btw, I've tried repairing disc permissions and everything seems normal. My mac drive is divided into three partitions via boot camp when I installed ubuntu, and now boot camp assistant presents an error requiring the startup disc to be on one partition.

Help.

Is this the disk that came with your MB? Do other disks mount fine?
