For school I have the program MediaPhys 3.0 that I need to install in order to do a course. When I put in the CD it says that I need to install shockwave. Over the past 2 weeks I have tried to install the shockwave player more than a dozen times. After I install it the screen says that the installation was successful but when I pull up MediaPhys it says that I don't have shock wave
I've tried a bunch of different things. One website said to deselect images and misc. in utilities so I did that but it didn't work. I am horrible at computers. I kept going to different sites but the instructions were complicated and I got really confused with what they were talking about. I came back here becayse some people here tried to help me set up my wireless (fyi to those people I can get wireless here at university something was wrong with my router at home) and they were very patient and helpful and gave me step by step explanation. Can someone help me?

Edit: I am sorry I just realized I put this in the wrong forum...I have a macbook not a macbook pro. I am sorry.

I don't think that matters, because this is a software issue.

Do you receive any errors during installation?
Do you ever run into similar problems with other software?

You need to run Safari via Rosetta, 'cause Shockwave is a browser plug-in and hasn't been updated to be Universal.

Quit Safari, click on its icon in the Applications folder, and from the "File" men, choose "Get Info." Then check the "Open using Rosetta" checkbox, relaunch the browser, and Shockwave should work.

I would recommend only running Safari via Rosetta when you need Shockwave, though, 'cause it'll run slower in that mode. Uncheck that box for normal, day-to-day browsing.
