Gold likes heat and tends to retain it.

the gold in the engine reflects the heat. so i guess the casing on the MB would keep it nice and toasty

that gives the old PowerBook ad 'greed is good' a run for its money… just kidding, I find it too ostentatious… the lady below doesn't need such a thing to feel good

Pimped. You had to ask? OH!!! You meant what kind of car did it USED TO BE... Ah...

I'd be more interested in what lens they used to make the car interior look so huge.

Not pimped It is a F700 concept car from Mercedes-Benz, an external view for your pleasure…

So the gold is original? Interesting... It looks very cool from the outside-but with that picture you can see why I was interested in how they took the interior picture. The interior picture makes it look like it's a conference room on wheels.

Sorry Glenn, I don't understand that 'so the gold is original?' question… which gold are you referring to? I mean, the original poster gold plated MacBook Pro is not related to the Mercedes-Benz concept car… note that lady is 'working' with a MacBook, not Pro.

Oh well, the thread is now officially derailed thought…

I meant the gold in the car. That's just not something I'd have thought of doing in an auto... And I did notice she had a MacBook-in what looks like a ballroom of a back seat.

I don't think it's gold, I think it's wood. Mercedes rarely puts gold in a car.

It's the engine compartment stuff I was talking about. Definitely gold.

From that picture, that car seems to be a 90s McLaren F1 (which indeed used gold in the engine compartment), not that luxury MB F700 concept which is powered by the all new DiesOtto techonology.

Concept cars and snippets of pictures make it hard to tell what one is looking at...
