weird symbol when macbook boots up

when i boot up my macbook, right when the wallpaper shows up this weird transparent sybol flashes on the screen then goes away. it only does it when i reboot... im kind of worried as to what it is i never noticed it before... any ideas?

it looks like the tip of an arrow one on top of another and then two lines on each side at the top with a cirlce around the whole thing almost like this with a circle around it:

also sometimes when i shut my computer and it usually goes to sleep, sometimes it reboots. its really starting to worry me because i dont have a clue as to what it is

Is that the Universal Access symbol? Check your Universal Access preferences for something turned on.
