What can I do to solve this problem? I have already reset the PRAM, that did not help.

WHen I press and hold "F12" nothing happens, and the icon does not show on the screen. When I open the drive and put a CD in, it does not spin or mount?

Is the rive broken and in need of replacement or is there something I can try, short of that to fix it?

I have a similar issue. When I hit F12 my combo drive will eject, but when I put a CD in it will not spin up or mount. Very weird. I am not sure if the drive is bad or just the cable. I actually think I just might replace them both.
