Hey guys

Last year, around this time, I decided to buy myself the MB Black. And by October end I had realized they had introduced the core duo 2. I felt cheated but I lived with it.

Now I am looking to upgrade to a MBP. Now I know that buying a laptop or any electronic is a decaying return for the buck and I also understand that new models will frequently be released.

But does anyone here know if I should wait for a month or so before buying a mac. Is there anything in the pipeline by Apple to release something new in the near future?

Please help!

yeah I chanced upon that.

It seems Q1 2008 is what is being rumoured to be the next release.

Arrghh

I'm getting a really good price if I were to resell my macbook today which I can put towards purchase of a new MBP. But if I wait till Jan or Feb, my value would have further gone down. Its hard to decide...

For what it's worth, the current gen of MBP is not really lacking anywhere, as far as I can see. It will always be faster, lighter, cheaper in the future. But the price is right, the technology's strong, and these things are pretty impressive as it is. I say don't wait. It's not like when C2D supplanted CD -- for me, that was a no brainer to wait for. Core Duo was dying from release, from where I sat.

Yes, it's a good time. The last update was substantial and the next update is still 4-5 months away.
