My daughter's Macbook is having issues with iChat. It says she signed off when she is on with others but her macbook says she is still logged in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check to see if you have an update for it.

If not. Simply restart it.

Following that if the problem persists I'd call up Apple if you still are within the 90 day period.

If not use Adium.

I've found often that iChat bugs out for no apparent reason. It's good to just have a back up.

Adium is a great alternative if you do not require the video/audio features of iChat.

I also believe that it will get a substantial update in Leopard.

Hopefully they iron out some of the issues.

:-) Hope this has helped.

If it really acts up though you can reinstall it using the restore DVD.

Try updating the software with Software update. This is just a minor software glitch, nothing to worry a ton about. iChat can be pretty buggy in earlier versions of Tiger.

We just did the Software update with 9 items to update but no iChat update?

If that does not work, how do we update the iChat software?

Thanks,

Bob

It's updated then. Like I said above iChat is very buggy in my opinion still. Hopefully it gets those bugs fixed in Leopard which I've read has an estimated release date of 26 Oct 2007.

Just download Adium if problems persist.
