Well, I'm surprised there's nothing on here about this yet. I installed it this afternoon; I unplugged the laptop and noted it said 87% capacity, plugged it in for the quick update (it's required) and reboot, and unplugged it again to find 88% capacity, which means...nothing, really. I should've done it by "Time Remaining" I suppose. Anyone else more clever or with those fancy battery utilities figure out how much of a difference this update made?

I for one was hoping a little more power savings would have be gained with the LED models, but it hasn't seemed to be significant thus far. Perhaps this will help a little....

You won't gain power savings.

The battery update probably improves the way the battery/OS X keep track of remaining power/time.

I performed the update and one battery went from showing 3800mA maximum charge to 5509 max charge (71 full charges). However, the other battery now does not work, and it was only 4 months old. I have to find the receipt so I can get a replacement.

Read this: Apple - Support - MacBook and MacBook Pro Battery Update

And go get a new battery, even if it is out of warranty.

I think it applies even for update 1.3 since that didn't fix it.
