Which older ibook is best for basic video playback?

Ok so i own an old tangerine ibook which i love,it still gets used as an internet and chatting machine and its great. What it cant do is play videos very well, standard divx stuff looks like a slide show now. I want to buy an older ibook like a chiclet 500-800. I want to know if this is a good buy for video playback will the 500-800 be enough or do i really have to shell out more for a g4 which always cost a coupe of hundred more

A G3 won't play divx very well, and a G4 will struggle. Your best bet is to find a different format of video.

G4 and VLC should play most divx files.
