So I just moved and got m MBP plugged in. If i slowly run my fingers over the areas next to the trackpad, i can feel a "buzzing", liek the electronic current running through it. It also gives me tiny shocks every now and then...
This is only when it is plugged in - not on battery. What does this mean? The wall plug is fine and I have no other problems with any other appliances....

Well, my first thought is... thats not good! If you can feel ANY effect of current running through your MBP... you're risking ruining it.

Second, I'd try a second wall socket somewhere else across the house. I tend to think that that wall socket has something wrong with it. Maybe it's not regulating the current properly.

Third, keep it on a surge protector.

Known defect.

Try the 3 prong extension cord; it may help, it may not.

Your MBP's aluminum case is a conductor and you're using an ungrounded power connection. So what you're experiencing is bound to happen. It's not a defect of any kind, but simply the way the MBP power circuit works. To get rid of the 'tingle' just use the three-prongue extension cable and a grounded outlet. If the feeling remains your house has faulty ground wiring and you should have it fixed by an electrician.

Try lifting your feet and see if it goes away.
