Most of the time, I couldn't care less about visual flaws to my Macbook - it's bound to happen. This, on the other hand, is very annoying.

Recently I've been having problems ejecting disks (well I say recently, I've only had it a few weeks...). I just assumed it was a mechanical thing, but now I realise what's causing it.

It's kinda hard to describe, but picture the slot drive on the MBP. There's a bit of metal above and below the drive. The bit above my slot drive is bowing downwards. So much so that it's preventing the disk from any more than touching the felt bits. Gaaah...

My question is, will this be covered by the warranty if I send it to be fixed? Like I said, I only received it just over a month ago, so this is pretty annoying. I'm trying my best to bend it back the other way - currently I have half the Applecare manual squeezed into it - but I can't exactly keep it like that.

Oh well, at least it's not noticeable I suppose.

If you bent the case you can have it fixed but you'll have to pay for it.

OTOH if your MBP came that way, ask Apple to replace the top case under warranty. This is not a cosmetic issue. It's a defect breaking designed functionality.

Make sure this isn't related to a swelling battery, which can cause its own problems (and is covered by warranty too).

As far as I can see, the battery is fine. It's just randomly decided to bend, I think.

The problem is, I'm really not sure if it came like that. Maybe it got squished in some way during my daily travels... Oh well, I'll take it down to my local retailer and see what they say. Thanks all
