Ok so I have had this mbp for sometime now.(2.16GHz Intel Core Duo, 2gb ram) Now running 10.5) I am able to get it to output with the adapter in vga mode, but for the life of me cannot get it to work with dvi. I have a friend at work with the exact same computer with the same ATI Radeon x1600 card that when he hooks his up works with no problems.(only difference is the firmware , i looked into updating this and cannot find it. ) When we hook mine up, the screen on the mbp blinks the blue screen and does nothing on the external display. I have clicke Detect displays millions and millions of times. Also done the f7 thing and nothing. The display is a Dell 2407. anyone have a clue?

Have you ever been able to output DVI? Have you tried a different display? Your connector could be damaged or there could be something wrong with your GPU. I'd try a different DVI display and see if that makes a difference. Take your MBP to an Apple store. I'm sure they'd let you try it out.

No, I mean the DVI connector on your computer, not the monitor connector. You may have a hardware problem. Go to an Apple store to have it checked out.

Sounds like a hardware problem on the MBP to me too.
