USB device defaults to CD on my Macbook

Every time I go to save a photo file to my USB device, my macbook wants it to save to a CD. How can I change my macbook to get it to recognize my USB device?

Not quite sure what you're talking about (iPhoto?), but check the CDs & DVDs preference pane in System Preferences.
