I've got a macbook that came with 512 MB stock RAM about a year ago. I added another 512 chip when I got it to give it 1 GB total. I'm looking to max it out, hopefully to 2 gigs. I know I can take out the first 512 chip, but without opening my computer, can anyone tell me whether the other one is unremovable? Can I take out both of them, sell them, and then get two 1GB sticks for a total of 2 gigs?

Thanks for the help.

Oh nice, I could have sworn I thought one of them was soldered in... was that on the old iBooks? That may be what I'm thinking of, if not, I'm losing it.

iBooks, 12" PowerBooks, and at least one of the G5 iMac revisions had RAM soldered in. None of the Intel Macs have any RAM soldered in.
