geez..
My MBP got dust spots BEHIND the screen…
The same way… I had it this summer. So the display unit is already swapped once… Is there any way to clean the display… with a fan or something… and to blow the stuff out. I fear that I will lose my computer again for a while… (And I am in the middle of a project)

Or do have others similar problems… ? I never had such an experience before. And now the same issue raised its ugly head on me in a short time.

Kinda helpless… why this actually happens.

Cheers,
Martin

Have the same model and I had some dust behind the lcd panel, wasn't that bad or noticeable, but still annoying. So I took it and they fixed it under warranty...no problems since. I would wait until your project is done and then send your laptop in. I brought it in on a Friday and got it back by Tuesday of the next week.

Was your display replaced for the same issue or another?

Hello… It was the same issue.

Dirt behind the screen itself. It is not tragic but incredibly annoying, because as a graphics designer i often work with white screens and I always see these dirt patches on the screen.

I am very concerned that this will happen again… IMHO the new glossy screens seem to be sealed in a bad way. I use my notebook in normal environments, no dust or something and i take care of it very well, that makes it much more frustrating.
Well… I think I will get it repaired and then I will sell it for good and get me a new MBP with 17" and no-gloss TFT. *sigh*

Good to know that I am not alone.
:-D

(Unfortunately the next Apple Service Provider is way over 120km away… and they tend to need 2-3 weeks over here in germany for a repair)

Sorry to hear that. I actually had the matte-finish lcd, but since the fix, I haven't noticed a reoccurrence.

You might want to give Apple customer service a call and tell them you're experiencing the same issue that was originally supposed to be fixed. Explain your situation... you need the MBP for work, can't afford the downtime again, and also your distance from an Apple store. Come to think of it, a nicely written letter would probably work better. I'm just guessing here, but they might be generous and give you a new replacement or even a loaner...not sure, since service can differ and you are in Germany, I'm in the States.

ibook_steve, hard to photograph because it looks just like regular dust, but it's underneath the lcd so you can never wipe it away. I had it all along the frame area about 1 inch in each side. Not super noticeable, but if you have any light color on the screen, it would be really apparent. I'm also a neat freak, so I doubt it was because of my environment.
