Contemplating purchasing a Samsung HL-T5689S 56 inch HDTV and would like to know what cable(s) would be required to view MLB games via MLB.TV using my HDTV and my G4 Powerbook. It's an OSX, 10.4.10. Also interested in what quality video and audio I can expect...

A true HDTV has a DVI port and/or HDMI ports. You can connect your computer straight to the DVI or to HDMI with a DVI to HDMI adaptor. However, with the HDMI connection, even though normally it carries sound as well, you won't have sound with this setup because the PB does not send sound signals out the DVI port. You'll need separate audio cable(s) from the headphone jack to the TV.

Steve-

Thank you for your help! Do you have a suggestion for which exact DVI to HDMI adaptor and which audio cable to use for optimum results?

You need a DVI-HDMI cable; Newegg has them for about $10-15.

The quality of TV streamed over the internet is probably worse than SD broadcast, especially at 768kbps.
