Just a warning to all the PB owners out there that are considering buying a replacement battery. I went to my local battery store and bought a battery for the al pb rated @ 4800 mAh for about 100$ (Assembled by FEDCO, marketed under the name ENERGY+, LI18650-6PBG4). I received the battery to find out that (from the System profiler) that the capacity was 4400 mAh. I've been using it for work for about a week and it has gone through 3 load cycles (meaning re charged fully about 3 times) and now, drumroll please..... the battery's capacity is 4144 mAh!
I am hoping to return this battery on monday and hope to get my money back. I spoke to some friends who are in the battery business and they say that this practice is common - companies like FEDCO buy cheap cells that are rated at a certain capacity (there no governmental over sight on certifying the capacity of cells) and then package them into a battery pack and sell them on the "word" of the cells manufacturer.
So stay away from this battery maker!
