I have an old ibook, G3 800mhz that decided it didn't want to start up anymore. I'd really like to have it back up and running to have as a back-up machine. I have tried to figure out the problem, but I am stumped. When I hit the power button it sounds like it is going to start (revs up a bit) but then it just stops. At the same time the cd drive will also click like it is checking for a disk. Nothing comes up on the screen. The battery sensor thing on the bottom shows that battery has power.

Any ideas?

If you use a flashlight can you see anything on the screen? Like the boot screen?

I just tried this with no luck. It doesn't seem like it is getting to that point. I held the power button and it beeped and the power light flashed rapidly for a few seconds.

Not the "BOOOOOOOOOOONGGGG"? That "beep" and the flashing sleep light may state a RAM problem I think.
