I recently opened my 600 MHz Dual USB 12" ibook G3 laptop from the bottom (exposing the motherboard and cd-r bottom) and put it back together without making any changes. After I re-assembled the ibook and plugged in the AC power cord it would not start. I then removed the battery and disconnected the AC cord and put the battery back in and it would now start. The ibook's booting chime would sound immediately but it now takes about 10 seconds before it shows the booting screen (monitor doesn't turn on until then). When I insert the power cord while the machine is on it immediately turns off without warning and will not reboot until I remove both the cord and battery. It does reboot when the battery is replaced, but I would definitely like to get to the bottom of this. Any ideas?
Thanks
P.S.
The power cord is recently new but is a third party product.
