Okay, so today when I turned my ibook on, I noticed that my background had turned to the default. I went to the preferecnes, but it said that it wasn't set to the default. It still said it was set to what I had set it to. Then, I noticed that I couldn't click on anything on the desktop. I can't highlight anything or open any folders or programs. I have had the problem where I can't click on anything on my desktop. When that had happened, I just restarted it, and then it was fixed. I've never had the background problem though. And I've restarted my computer, but the background is still set to the default and I can't click on anything on the desktop. Can anyone help?

Did you try running Disk Utility?

As a start, use the standard Disk Utility with the permissions check for your entire harddrive. Furthermore you should look at the hdd filetree. This can be done at the Mac OS X Installer by using Disk Utility from the disc.

If then there are still problems we are willing to help
