Yes. Should I not hve done that?

I have downloaded itunes 7.5 but it wont open it, an error message comes up saying itunes requires Mac OS X 10.4.7 or later. Do I need to download and older version? If so where can I find this?

Thank you

The Apple site has a very detailed troubleshooting section that deals with 90% of iPod issues - have you followed the instructions there?

Click the Apple menu (top left Apple Logo), then About the Mac. Under where is says Mac OS X, what version does it say?

First of all, welcome! Second, you aren't stupid, an iPod can cause people fits. I think you need to do the 10.4.11 update. You may need to do what peeb suggests, check out Apple's troubleshooting page. Worst case is that you wipe the 'Pod and start over. That won't hurt the files on Mac.
If you run into the same problem it could very well be a corrupt mpg file in that batch of 1418 songs. Let us know!

Yeah, update to 10.4.11, then try it. If it's a MacBook, it will say "MacBook" under the screen.
