Hey everyone!!

I got a problem with my Mac, I got a 12" PB 1.33 GHZ and doesn't boot up, I think provably is the RAM cause it doesn't have any, I'll explain why...a friend of mine gave it to me cause she didn't want it cause she had a MBP so she didn't use the PB anymore...I noticed that this computer doesn't boot... but the thing is that a computer without RAM doesn't boot but you can hear the DVD ROM, CD ROM...etc... starting, but this powerbook doesn't do any of that even if it's connected to the power brick... my question is... This problem is caused by the logic board or the fact that the PB doesn't have a RAM card yet??

If it worked recently for your friend when she had RAM in it, then it probably still works, but only once it gets RAM.

Ask her about its history.

12" PBs have soldered RAM. The machine should boot no matter what. What does happen when you try to start it?

It could also be the PMU, if you are getting no response whatsoever when pressing the power button.

But he is getting response he said, from the DVD rom, then shouldn't it be the HD? 256 MB of soldered ram is enough to boot into tiger, I doubt it's got leopard.
