My MBP is starting is miss the first character when I start typing. If I use my mouse to change apps / surf the web / etc I have to repeat the first character I enter. I am also noticing "pauses" when the computer seems frozen for a few seconds. Too weird.

No and thank you very much for the link. I am clearly hopeless at searching Apple's site for tech support!

So what's the verdict? Has the 10.5.2 update fixed the issue? I haven't been able to test it yet on my 2.4 GHz 15" MBP.

Do you have any third-party drivers, haxies, extensions or similar installed? Seems like some sort of bug in the USB driver stack.

The issue is interesting in the sense the missing first character shows up very consistently when working on the internal keyboard. When my Logitech USB keyboard is attached - all is fine.
